Hi guys, I'm an Italian boy of 21, so forgive me if my english is orrible. I have this problem: In 1984 my father bought an Alembic guitar Medium Scale Series I serial number #81-1788. There are only 2 models of this guitar in Italy, because they were bought by W. Davoli (a famous amplifier builder) for his collection of great-value instruments. In Italy there are a lot of shops which sell Alembic basses but not Alembic guitars! NONE!! I haven't a digital photocamera, so I can't post pictures but I saw that the appearance is just alike the bass Series I short scale #81-1772, showed in the thread "Series I basses and guitars" (Showcase topic). Someone knows his value (approximately)? I know it's a stupid question but I would like to know it. Here in italy this guitar is a treasure!! |

Hi Marco, the place is getting LOADED with Italians ...wew! Welcome. About that picture thing: if you want some pictures of your guitar -and I can only recommend that among for insurance reasons- you take whatever kind of throw away camera box and take pictures. At a photo-store you ask the storekeeper to print the pictures but ALSO put them digitally on a CD. It is nearly standard now and not expensive. About value ...that's for others to find out. Anyway ...when I was a kid I played a DAVOLI amp!! Bring up some memories!! Paul TBO |

Thanks a lot palembic, I'll do it! Is incredible that there aren't Alembic guitar sellers in Italy! I tried to search in the net but without results. My father suffer this because he would buy all the models he looks on this site. Thanks again. Bye |

Okay, anyone - what is "Nara"? Is that italian for something we all know and love, or something I've never heard of before? |

I found a description that says that Nara is a tropical wood with a golden color. http://www.grinzo.com/wood_samples/wood_samples.html |

Hi to everyone. Valvil thank youuu!! Are you Italian?? I asked just yesterday to myself which wood is Nara and why it doesn't compare on the wood chart of this site. My guitar (my father's guitar, I'm keyboardist:-)) is almost identical to the custom bass on the homepage (surely woods are different), put it 2 strings more and it's OK! I'll post some pics soon. Thanks to everyone. |
