Many thanks to all who have helped someone else! My beautiful Alembic MXY pups seem to be missing their springs to allow for pup adjustment... The bass has performed beautifully (I am the third owner) until a few nights ago, when a strange buzzing began during soundcheck. I looked down to find the neck pup magnetically affixed to the low E. Tragedy averted with a turn of the phillips, but that is when I found out about my lack of pup adjustment. My Rogue 5 adjusts perfectly. Help amazing forum folks! You've bailed me out before. This is small potatoes for your brain trust. |

Most Alembic pickups don't use springs. If you pickup has 4 screw holes (one at each corner), it mounts and adjusts without springs. Two of the screws, catercorner from each other go under the pickup. Then the pickup is placed in the cavity, on top of the first two screws, and the remaining two screws then go through the other two catercorner holes. To adjust, you first loosen the two screws on top. Then, placing your skinny screwdriver through the other two holes, you adjust the two screws under the pickup to obtain the desired pickup height. Finally, you tighten the top two screws to lock down the pickup. If your pickups only have two screw holes, one on each side, never mind. Bill, tgo |

Apologies on the delayed post. Once again, thanks Team Alembic. I went back to the Rogue 5 and realized that, as mentioned, I was way off... The Rogue 4 is back to her usual beautiful self. I love my bass.
