Hi folks,

Just purchased my 1st Alembic and I am looking for some info/history. It is a Distillate from 1983, serial number is 83D2625.
Has scalloped frets from the 7th to the 24th fret. Any info is greatly appreciated. Here's a pic...

Welcome to the camp!
Someone (Mica) will get you the details on you wonderful Distillate in a relativly short amount of time.

I am interested in seeing some detailed pictures of the scalloped neck.

I'm pretty sure that's a Claro Walnut top. The neck is likely to be Purpleheart and Maple and a 32" medium scale. The fingerboard must be Ebony. The body is probably Mahogany.

Thanks Mica. Yep, the body is mahogany, the fretboard is ebony I believe.. I was thinking the top was walnut, although more figured then what I've seen before so I was a little unsure. The neck is maple with 2 mahogany strips running through.
