Truth be told I was actually planning on bringing another, lighter-weight, bass. (I knew it was going to be a long gig standing on concrete). But I was running through some charts prior to the gig with my Essence 6 and it sounded SOOO good that it sonically convinced me to bring it instead. I had a back-up bass with, but it never came out. Early in our first or second song, the drummer looked over to me and did that smiling nod of "Oh, yeah" - the one that we bass-players get when things are really clicking. The set list was all over the map, but I never needed to switch. Thank you, Alembic & Co! |
