I was told it is a 1990 and looks like quilted maple on the top....I don't know much else other than I was super excited to open the case and play it!

Thanks!
The tone and mwah is everything I thought it would be. :-)

Now I'm gonna go home and grab my vise grips and convert my Distilate to a fretless!

Hello Jaymi,
Welcome aboard, I too am an Alembic Distillate owner and they Rock! So easy to setup up, even on a busy stage. Truly a wonderful instrument. Note: keep in mind the tailpiece adds some length to the string length. So from my experience long scale (34” strings) on a 32” Distillate works fine. Medium scale strings may fall short.
Enjoy!
Pete

I am working on setting it up. Is the truss rod nut a 1/4" standard or is it special? I need to straighten the neck. I am not sure how well this thing was cared for before I got it and I like my action super low....

Jaymi, welcome to our group. Congrats on your acquisition. You and the bass sound great. Killer tones and looks. It's enough to make me re-think fretless...and confirms that I've never heard a Distillate that I didn't like no matter the music style or amplification. Have fun!
