I purchased this bass in 1983 or 1984. Pretty sure I am the 2nd owner. Looking for the build sheet, history & any other information including wood type.
This bass has not been modified or required any repairs since I have owned it. It has seen hardly any playing time and is in really great condition.

Thanks for looking, geo.

Nice Distillate! I have a fondness for these, as my first Alembic was a Distillate (which I still have and enjoy very much!).

That top looks like Macassar ebony to me; I'm sure others will chime in on this one.

Enjoy your bass, and Happy Holidays to you!

Hi George,

I've got a note in the file from talking to you in 2014. Here's all the details that I know about it:

serial number: 83D2725
model name: Distillate
model number: DMB4
top: Coco Bolo
body: Mahogany
neck: 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 32" medium
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: AXY4
controls: "DS-1" volume, pickup selector, filter, Q-switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono output
originally made for: James Berns Music, MN
birthday: June 15, 1983

You told me then you were the second owner, but I didn't have a record of the first owner.
