Hi there, I run a normal bass into input one and a keyboard bass into input 2 of the F-1X, but I notice that it attenuates the input signal of both when I have both plugged in at the same time. Is there any way to mod it so that it doesn't bring down the signal level like that? Thanks! Ryan |

Hi Ryan welcome to the forum. Assuming that you are playing the instruments yourself and you are not sharing the F1-x with someone else playing simultaneously, then an option worth considering is using an A&B footswitch with its output into input one of the F1-x and use the switch to select which instrument is going into your rig. However if your preferred requirement really is to modify the f1-x, then I'm confident someone here with electronics knowledge will soon offer you some specific guidance. Jazzyvee |

Yeah I would do that except that I have a song that goes back and forth between real bass and keyboard bass too quickly to use an ab switch. I either need to mix the two signals together before going into the preamp or I need to figure out how to keep the preamp from attenuating the signal when 2 inputs are plugged in. Anybody know if there's a mod for that? Thanks! |

Without the attenuation they would short eachother out, so there is no mod. Each one is half voltage and mixed through equal resistors. If you've got both instruments plugged in all the time, does the attenuation matter much? What I mean is, can you turn the volume up on the F-1X? |

Thanks Mica, Yeah that's what I have been doing, which works okay. I just get a lot more hiss that way since I have to up the gain quite a bit. The tone sounds so much better with just one or the other plugged into input 1, so I was going to try to see if there was a way to make it all work. What would you suggest? Should I get a little active mixer to mix the signals before going into the alembic? |
