Hi folks. I just put a set of D'Addario Half Rounds on the bass. The low B is 130 gauge and is too large for the existing saddle groove that was cut and filed. This leaves the B String noticeably higher than the rest of the strings. What type and size file would I need to fix this problem. Thanks.

I use a cheap small file set from Harbor Freight that gets it very close (cost 3 - 4 bucks) using the small round files in the set and then use an actual size bass string for the final fitting and cleaning up file, but you can also buy a correct bass saddle and nut file set for big money as well.

Brass is pretty easy to work.
