After 15 years, it's finally happened: I OWN an Alembic Bass. My dream came tru. My Bass is a Mark King Signature DeLuxe and it's in a perfect condition. I made some pictures so everybody can see how beautifull this instrument is. I hope to get lots of useful information from the Alembic Club ! (Message edited by davehouck on June 05, 2005) |

Hallo Jelle, welkom! Beautiful bass, but am I correct in assuming that without a back laminate (not sure from these pictures) and purpleheart neck laminates it's actually a MK Standard? If the serial# says MJ instead of MK that's the case. If you post a serial# request in this or in a new topic the good people of Alembic can reveal all... Yeah that looks like a Standard MK, without the purpleheart neck laminates and the full hippy sandwich. It's a great looking bass all the same. I have a SC Deluxe and the cocobolo wood is incredible looking. Depending on the light that wood can turn from being almost orange thru to red, purple and very dark brown. Take it out in the sun one day and have a look. But most of all the sound..... you will play with those filters for years and still come up with a "new" sound to your ears. Jazzyvee |
