Certificate state it was completed 5/15/13 but the serial number indicates it was built in 2011. The original owner bought a few variations on this theme, and production was held on a couple of the last ones to see if he wanted any changes. At one point, this was going to have plated hardware, so the serial number was issued when the hardware was made and prepped for plating, but that changed, along with a bunch of other stuff. Anyway, here's what is in the file: Orion 5-string bass OLB5 11C14187 top: whitest possible Flame Maple accent: Walnut pinstripe body: Mahogany as orange as possible neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes scale: 34" long fingerboard: Ebony 1.75 x 2.93 side markers: aluminum dots inlays: mother of pearl ovals finish: solid black* truss rod cover: brass, signed on underside by Ron pickups: MXY56 controls: Signature originally made for: Bass Central, FL as a custom order birthday: May 15, 2013 *The finish was changed to opaque black in December of 2012.
