These pictures are from my Kinks cover band called Kinda Kinks, and yes we play songs other than "You Really Got Me." In fact that band made some great music through the '70s and '80s... By all reports my set neck Balance K is the first set neck in with the Balance K variation. It sounded so angry...
In the front...
where's the point?

John:

Nice looking axe. A Kinks cover band? Excellent! Do you guys do anything from Soap Opera - a very underrated album IMHO.

Bill, tgo

Right now the repertoire consists of stuff between 1964 and 1970 -- the singer is not particularly a fan of Soap Opera but there is plenty of drama in Arthur. I have never heard Soap Opera and lead singers are well...lead singers...we're going to try to get some '80s stuff out of him... But we also do stuff from later years too like "in Disgrace" from Schoolboys in Discrace and "Do it Again" which I believe is from Word of Mouth. We're going to do "Shangri La" from Arthur with a few horn players...it's going to smoke... I particularly enjoy our rendition of "Picture Book."

I am particularly pleased that the neck to body join is carved exactly the same way they carve a through neck instrument. I wasn't sure how they were going to attack that situation and the result is very pleasing because it looks from the front like a through neck with a bookmatch to center thing happening. Very cool. I don't play my other basses anymore...
