Maybe one for Mica.
I own Series 1 76-434, this is short scale with a point body.
Love her dearly but I do find the early bridge design is not as solid as the later design.
I want to change my early bridge for the barrel body bridge as I love the mass and stability of this bridge ( as on my SC Deluxe)
Can I buy one and how easy would it be to do the change?
I would need to get it shipped to the UK.

any help would be appreciated !

Thanks

It's an easy change, and I can send you a bridge with unslotted saddles that will drop in your original bridge block. The only thing I'll need is an accurate measurement of the spacing of the two mounting holes.

Send me an email ( mica at alembic dot com ) and include a picture of the bridge. I can help you get an accurate measurement for the spacing.

Hi Mica,
Thanks for the reply, I sent an email to you with some pics.
I believe that the spacing between the mounting holes is 7.5cm(measured hole to hole) but hopefully my pics with the ruler included will confirm that !

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Jon

Hi Mica,
Did you receive my email? , not sure if it reached you so can you please let me know.

Also I am a bit useless with computers, how do I reduce the file size of my bass pics so that I can post them ?, would love to get some shots of my bass up on the site !

look forward to hearing from you

I did reply to you, but I'll resend it.

To reduce the file size I find it's best to edit the image with the longest side no more than 600 pixels and same with 8 or less compression.

I'll resize an image or two of what you sent and post it here so everyone knows what we are talking about.

I think I figured out the problem on our end - been changing over our internet connection and it's been a bit of a nightmare. Should come through now, be on the lookout. In the meantime, here's that pretty bass pic you sent to me:

76-434

I think one problem is that bridge is so clean. Just kidding!

I really like the way the finish has aged, gives it that antique look!
Nice bass indeedy!!
