Where is the "flat" point in the EQ pots' rotation? The Epic has asymmetric EQ as I think I've read, so it's not likely to be in the center of its sweep...is it? I'm trying to make sure that the index markers on the knobs wind up in a place that makes sense to me when set at "flat" so I can judge quickly when playing.

Thanks,

Scott

To me, there is little point in knowing where the flat position is. You need more, you'll find it towards the neck, less is towards the bridge. Go by ear!

Flat is at the detent. The cut is greater than the boost, but flat is flat!

In case you have an early Epic without the detent - it's the center of rotation for the flat setting.

Mica FTW! Yes, both of mine are '94 without the detent (I remember you telling me that my 4-string shares a birthday with your mom. :-) ). That's all I needed to know - I had made a working assumption that it was that way and reset the knobs to reflect that (I'm not sure how they got where they were, but they were NOT anywhere close to that position). Thanks again!

I lined them up so the lines of the bass and treble knobs at maximum boost point in the same direction as the line on the volume knob at full blast, so 3 o'clock-ish.
