I presume the Mothership is quite busy these days, so I shall post this to the club. My 4 way selector switch has increasing side to side 'play' when in any position, and the knob is secured to the post. I am afraid she will not switch out of 'off' one day soon; is this selector available commercially (i.e, StewMac), or is it best to obtain from Alembic?
Many thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Can you tell if the entire switch is moving in its brass mounting plate? As in, has the mounting nut simply come loose? If you remove the knob (with the correct hex key) you will be able to tell. Hopefully that's the answer because it's an easy fix!

If you determine the switch is indeed failing, that is best purchased pre-wired from HQ as it's surprisingly complicated. And you will still need some soldering skills to install it...

Sheesh, how embarrassing! Jimmy, when you're done touring, I'm sure Alembic will hire you in the tech support department; it seems the mounting nut had indeed been loosening slightly evermore in the past year and a half (as my performance schedule had increased), and that was indeed the problem.
My sincere thanks for the suggestion, JJ, and the next time you're in central NJ the beer/whiskey is on me......

Happy Thanksgiving all,
Chris

That's excellent! It was a lucky guess on my part but glad to help out, as is everybody in here.

Cheers!
