I don't think there's much other than water to clean the tuners. The plating is very thin, and most cleaners are too abrasive. If the tuners were worn badly and corroding, probably the only thing is to replace them. For the brass, we use a product called Flitz. Anything that is specifically for cleaning brass will work on the nut and the bridge. The tailpiece is coated with a polyester finish, and that will have to be sanded off before you can clean it if the coating was compromised enough to allow corrosion. Here's some details about your bass: top: Flame Maple accent veneer: Walnut body: Maple neck: 3-piece Maple pickups: MXY electronics: volume, pan, filter finish: green glow birthday: November 21, 1991 originally sold to: Guitar Center Hope you keep enjoying your Essence. |

Hi Naxale and welcome to the club. Hope you get your Essence back to the condition you want. I'm amazed anyone could ever be 'cruel' to an Alembic. Graeme |

Ah.. In here,Thailand, there're lotta ppl dunno how this alembic worth, as i said, Alembic does not popular in Thailand. They known only Fender, Ibanez, Musicman, Warwick, ETC. so, a lotta guys may think that this "boutique bass" is just a cheap one and play it very suck!. i feel very sad about this. And the very important thing! Not only the brass items were worn, but they still leave a SCAR on my essence body, both front and back, how bad? |

If the scratch is very deep, then it will have to be refinished to make an excellent repair. Can you post a picture? |
