I went to a blues jam at a club last night and had a real surprise. As expected none of the guitarist recognized my brown bass however they did pronounce Alembic correctly once they were told the name. I guess there is some hope for those in the higher register. :-) Now the surprise. As I was walking back to put my bass in the case someone in the crowd came up and asked me "Isn't that an Alembic?". Although the person doesn't play bass we talked a bit about the bass and it's versatility especially when one of the guitarists jumped into an old Aretha Franklin tune and wanted to get funky. Turned the treble up and flipped the Q switches and got down.
