Who ordered this and why did they never play it? When I go tthe bass, it was AS NEW MINT, still has the brown paper over the back plate! It had dust on the top of the machine heads as if hung on the wall for 20 years! |

Don't ask questions, just enjoy--mine sat in its' case under a bed for God knows how many years, and came to me fresh as a daisy, just like she came from the Mothership. Glad to hear you're happy, KFS |

Hello, John, congrats from me also. Hope you enjoy your 8str as well as I enjoy my 4str. I hug her every evening, but my wife does not allow the bass in bed at night :-(. However, the serial number is confusing me a bit, it should read either 86 S "three"900 or "ninetyfive" S 8900. Post pics please, I always love to see eight-strings, and I am dreaming to own one one day :-) all the best to all of you out there, Speicky |

I play a five-string Spoiler, so two words come to mind when I contemplate an eight-string: neck dive. |

Here's what is in the instrument file: top: Maple body: Mahogany neck: Maple, 32" scale fingerboard: Ebony pickups: AXY controls: volume, filter, 2-position Q-switch, 4-position rotary pickup selector output: mono originally sold to: not recorded birthday: February 21, 1986 There are no other details in the file. It's not unusual for the brown paper to still be on the brass plates. We used to leave it on so the new owner could make the first scratch. Now we take it off, because people never removed it, and the adhesive turns to solid and will not release after many years. Plus, now that I take pictures of everything, I've got to take the paper off the plates. Sorry there wasn't much else to tell. You can add to the file by registering your bass and tell us where you purchased it. Then there will be something about the bass' life after leaving here recorded. |

Also, a minor correction: the serial number must be 3900. It's hard to read it stamped on the end of the fingerboard. Please do the future a favor and write it on the ledge of the electronics cavity with a Sharpie or similar permanent marker. Thanks! |
