I have owned this Essence since 1992 and would love to be reminded of the details. Thanks! (I tried to post a pic but all of my files are too big - even when I reduce quality down to the lowest level.) |

Hi sickaura, welcome to the forum. We love seeing new members instruments and your image sizing difficulty is something that many members new and old have problems with so you are to alone in this. If you want, you can email me the pictures and I will resize and mail them back to you so you can post them on the site. My email address is in my profile. |

I love the little heart-shaped figure at the elbow... you just know somebody in Santa Rosa thought it was cool when choosing the wood for this one! Welcome to the Forum - very nice bass! |

Looks to be an all maple essence with a small walnut laminate. Love that quilted flame on the top wood. Appears to be standard Essence electronics (V/pan/Filter) All maple construction with a filter...I bet it has some bark and cuts RIGHT through the mix. |

As of today I am now the new owner of this bass, it is awesome! Ive never owned an alembic before, but I understand why they are so loved, it practically plays its self, and the Q filter is really something! |

Thank you Mica! It is an amazing piece of work, Jason (SickAura) bought that bass new at that store in 1992, (he even sent me a pic of him playing it that year at a gig) the bass has been "gently loved" here and there, and when I say that I mean it was played and well taken care of, (you can tell this bass was loved) it just has a few very minor bruises from being 24 years old, but it plays beautifully, the frets look brand new, though it needs some burrs cleaned up on some of the fret ends. The only thing I see that even bugs me only slightly is it looks like one of the side position dots, has come out, (they look like they're brass, are they?) but its no biggie, I honestly thought about having it re finished as the clear has shunk over time and you can kind of feel the laminates in the neck, but to be honest in its current condition dings wouldn't make me cringe as much as if it were shiny and new. The more I mess with the q filter the more I'm in love with it! I love the fact that this bass is what Ill call "barely active" and that q filter especially rolled all the way off is awesome for old school tones! |

Lol disregard the side marker missing, it just slightly recessed, and had some crud over the top of it! |
