Series l small body medium scale SN 80-1534 Stanley Clarke style body I'm the original owner I bought the bass back in 1980. This symptom occurs whether I'm using the five pin XLR or just using the quarter inch stereo jack somehow I've got what seems like an open ground Noisy Hum I also noticed when I took the back off that did notice the NE5554 op-amps felt a little warm and I don't know that maybe normal has anyone experienced this kind of problem and found a cure? I'm almost tempted to go through and re-terminate every connection just to be sure it's not a short

Have you tried going through the hum cancelling procedure? It can be found here.
