Another Stupid Question

The logo on my new Series I is already tarnished/corroded and just plain looks like hell. Short of having Alembic either plate it or replace it with either a plated version or the $1K logo w/shell, can anything be done to make it look good without ruining the poly finish on the bass? Tarn-X anyone? LOL! They start with an antiqued finish so the relief shows up nicely. Go to a department store and get a Connoisseur brand or Haggerty brand silver polishing cloth. It will remove the tarnish from the flat areas, leaving the dark antiquing. The finish on my Orion hardware looks great, but if you breathe on it, it gets fine scratches. Just keep it clean with a soft cloth. Connoisseur brand does make a gold cloth as well. The plating is 24K, so it's not hard.
