A beautiful bass and I love it! Just wanted to know what year it was made, if anyone owned it before me how many people owned it before me, that kind of stuff you know. please and thank you. Frank, Great purchase, sounds like another fabulous looking bass; my first Alembic was an Orion 5. If you'll allow me to elbow in, the "03" in the SN means your Orion was born in '03. Regarding the previous owner histories...(I'm really speaking out of turn here)I'm not sure one should reasonably expect that kind of information to be reliably maintained by Alembic - it would depend too much on buyers and sellers consciously updating the instrument's registration ever time it changed hands. Hi Nick, Here's what I found in the instrument file, but it doesn't match your description, so perhaps a photo aid will help solve the mystery. OLB5 Orion 5-string bass top: Walnut accent: Maple and Purpleheart veneers body: Mahogany neck: Maple with Walnut pinstripes, 34" long scale fingerboard: Ebony with aluminum side position markers finish: Polyester gloss with satin neck feel pickups: MXY controls: Volume, pan, bass, treble output: mono hardware: brass originally made for: Steve's Music, Montréal birthday: September 8, 2003 There are no previos registered owners, and I also don't show you as the current owner, so do register when you get a chance. Of course, check that serial number again carefully to make sure we're looking at the right bass. |
