My Rogue 5 output level is somewhat lower than the output on my Essence 4. When using my rig, I adjust the input on my amp to offset the lower output level. I have looked at the trim pots on the preamp on both basses. the Essence is the halfway point and the Rogue is around 75%. Question: will the Rogue preamp clip if the pot is set at max level? Lately, I've been going behind another player using his rig. He uses a Yamaha active bass. the sound man is always asking me to give him move signal when I use the Rogue. Short of twisting input/output knobs on his rig, is there any known reason the Rogue has a "weaker" output. |

The Rogue should have two trim pots, and you can go ahead and experiement with the levels until you can get your Rogue to match the output of your Essence. Go ahead and crank them up some and test to see if you are clipping. Since there are two trimpots in the Rogue, make sure that your pan/blend control is still working so the extremes are the same volume when you are done. You might also compare the pickup heights of the two basses. If the Essence's are closer to the strings, the output can be greater for a similar trimpot setting. If you are unable to get the Rogue up to the level of the Essence without clipping, then reply with the serial numbers of both basses and we'll start digging deeper into a possible cause.
