Long time owner needs origional bridge pick-up. Replacement has Alembic logo but works fine. all other aspects are as delivered. I will only ship to factory or factory recomended shop for repair. Wood identification would be nice as the laquer has yellow'd deeply. Thanks, Michael Sturges

Hi Michael,

Here's what I found in the instrument file:

76-399 MSB

top and back: purpleheart
core: Walnut
neck: Birch and Walnut, 32" medium scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays
peghead veneers: Walnut
originally made for: Rothchild Musical Instruments
birthday: sorry, not recorded

Rothchild sent it with an updated packing list with the instruction, "Please examine bass pickup and batteries." There is a note in the file that the bass was:

DELIVERED 2-15-77
FIXED & SHIPPED 2-22-77
PICKUPS & BATTERIES REPLACED

There was someone in South Carolina interested in buying this bass in 1998, and a recorded owner from Virginia in 1999.

You can have a new pickup cast in the original mold, but it is recommended to get a matched pair for best function. You can replace them yourself, as the pickups just plug in.

Call us to place your order or email your phone number and we will call you back.
