What can you tell me about this bass?

It's another one for sale on eBay which I am considering a bid on.

Thanks!

Also, this bass has inlays of the initials "HG" on the 14th fret. Were these on the original bass? Were they installed there by Alembic?

Look at the listing on eBay for a close up of what I am talking about:

Also, could you tell me if it would be possible for you to remove the HG inlays and fill in the holes and smooth it over acceptably? If so, about how much would that cost?

If that is not feasible, how much would it cost to put a whole new fretboard on this bass (ebony with the standard oval inlays)?

Thanks again,
Curt

Okay, here we go:

1982 4 string Medium scale Distillate bass
koa top
mahogany body
maple/purpleheart neck
ebony fingerboard
mother of pearl oval inlays
Completed 02/04/1982

That's it.
