Hello! This Spoiler from 1983 has been in my collection from feb. 2005 til dec. 2005.
So you see, it is not mine anymore...
I've got some info on this instrument and a picture you might want to include in it's file.
I'ts a 1983 Spoiler, 32" scale lenght, solid body (no top) Koa? Walnut? 3 piece maple neck,
The tuner for the D string was replaced by a Schaller all right, but wrong side so up side down(look closely and you will see it on the picture). The electronics need new pots, you can turn them all the way round. The Finish is worn out completely, I think it had a bad refinish somewhere in it's past. On the neck there's hardly any finish at all.
Some nitwit thought it would be funny to put wood screws in the threaded inserts of the control panel, the inserts are... screwed! The bridge pick up misses a piece caused by over tightning of the screws. It's not that bad, you can still use all 4 screws and lock it any way you want. When I got the bass it had springs under the pick ups... This was easy to fix, took about 5 min.
Now the good points!
This bass is an Alembic! 10 points scored already!
It's playability is superb. Neck has stood the hands of time very well. Fretboard is in super condition, I was surprised to see it in such a condition compared to the finish. Frets are good, I think it was refretted recently (job well done)
Electronics are working and sounding good, but you need tape to fix the volume setting. It has significant lower output than my current Spoiler, no problem though sound is very good.
I've only got one nice picture:

The bass was sold again in 2006. I think the bass is still in Holland somewhere...

I've send an E-mail to Mica about my other Spoiler. Since it has no serial number I didn't post it here. I've seen you've been pretty busy these days, I'm not in a hurry. Please take your time.
I've seen the request for 83S2488, I think this one has pretty much the same features as 83S2433. 83S2488's birthday is February 8, 1983. So that's at least 55 basses finished between January 1, and February 8 1983 I guess?

Blessed is the day on which you decided to turn pieces of wood into pieces of art!

Cheers!
F.C. aka Flip

Thanx for the info!

I've heard the new owner is very pleased with this bass.
Could be the bad refinish, but this Koa looks very different than the Koa on my current '83 Spoiler 83S2674
Also the 83S2674 has Gold Schallers, this isn't mentioned in the build record. Maybe Installed by a previous owner? The peghead veneers are beautiful flamed Koa.
