David:

Happy anniversary. I'm jealous. You were smart/lucky enough to glom onto an Alembic while I celebrated 30 years of wanting one before I got my paws on my first. Go out and celebrate ... you might want to bring along a Fender as the designated driver. nyuk, nyuk. By the way, is "Toured with Elvis" the name of a band, or did you actually play with the King himself?

Bill, I hooked up with a Elvis Impersonator in late 77 just after Elvis died and we toured the U.S., and yes, I did the tour with my Series 1

And as far as a designated driver goes that job will have to go to my Epic, party on!!!!!

I love Elvis impersonators. My cousin got married in the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas. His bride was walked down the aisle by "Elvis". He sang "Love Me Tender" and then we all joined in on "Viva Las Vegas". It was hilarious and a great time was had by all.

Happy Anniversary, David. Very cool.

My Elvis story: For about a year I played for (and occasionally still do) "The Mayor by Day, The King by Night" former Jasonville, Indiana Mayor and Elvis impersonator Bruce Borders. He's even been on Letterman (says Paul Schaffer is a complete dick). No humility whatsoever.. ;)

David T

I'm fascinated, thirty years with the same axe.

What, if any, maintenance/repair has it required in this time?

Hi David
I've got Ae 76 069-a Series 1
She's beautiful and plays like a dream-------no inherent noise problems. 30 years old means that she is a fine mature lady-like mine
Enjoy her to her fullest!!
We have been so lucky to find these (now) rarer instruments-I wouldn't change her for the world.

Hi david. Congratulations and happy anniversary a day late.
my Elvis story.. Here in the UK on BBC radio 2 we have an afternoon show that includes a weekly slot called 'Ask Elvis' in which members of the public ask an elvis impersonator to answer the most 'off the wall' questions they can think of. Amazingly, he aways knows the answer - alot of the questioners are live. One of the funniest things on the radio these days, it has me in stiches on the way home.

I love these threads. You start out on one topic – by the way Happy anniversary, David – and you end up with Elvis and then an Elvis Clone. Along the way you find out the 'inside scoop' about minor TV celebs...Rock on!
