This is definitely a personal project of a former employee. The number 12451 was issued to an standard Excel 5-string bass sent to a dealer in VA. So, I think the bass was probably made on shop night, but it isn't an Alembic brand, despite the logo on the peghead. Some people find the shop night instruments to be collectable. From looking at the pictures, it's got a Flame Maple top, Mahogany body, Mahogany neck with a Maple veneer running down the center. We consider shop night instruments to be just that - personal projects. We don't consider them Alembics, because they are not communal projects that are subject to the scrutiny of our normal standards.
