Hi There, I have been playing bass for years and always dreamed of owning an Alembic. As of today, my dream came true!! I just received my Rogue 5 string with a serial number of "97Q11099 USA", and I would be thrilled to know any history you may have on this bass! According to the sales person, this bass "has not been played". I'm not sure I believe this as I understand the "97" in the serial number means a 1997 model, and I don't see a bass as beautiful as this sitting unplayed for 9 years. Really, though, it doesn't matter because even if it has been heavily used, it is still in beautiful shape and (from what I can tell so far) plays like a dream! Any history or insights about this bass would be very much appreciated, and thank you for providing this wonderful service! -Bill |

Bill; I'm just guessing but I think it is the case that Washington Music purchased a lot of Alembics back in the late 90's, including a number of Rogue 5's, and that they may still have some of these basses in stock. So it may indeed be the case that your bass is NOS, new-old-stock. |
