Hi, I have just purchased my second Alembic, a 6 string Rogue from washinton music (ebay). While it's winging it's way to the UK it would be good to know more about it. Thanks, Richard

Hi Richard,

Here's the details I found in the instrument file:

top: Vermilion
accent: Maple laminate
body: Mahogany
neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid oval inlays
body shape: Rogue
finish: satin natural polyurethane (thin)
pickups: MXY56
controls: volume, filter, Q-swich, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono side-mounted output
originally made for: Washington Music
birthday: June 12, 1997

I think this was a bass they lost track of for a while in their enormous warehouse. This bass has never had a registered owner.

Two things to be aware of:

1. The finish is thin, and appears somewhat like an oil finish. It isn't - it's polyurethane. Clean it with guitar polish and you'll be fine. It will buff up where you regularly touch it.

2. These sidejacks are the nicest available barrel style, and still they fail regularly. You can order a prewired jack from us for $15 or 2 for $25. It's good to have at least one spare. We recommend using regular cables, and nothing with fancy over-plating on the connectors with these jacks.
