Hello Jim. "85D" from the serial number indicates a Distillate completed in 1985, but the number after the D is too low. All (most) Alembics are numbered sequentially in build order, guitars and basses, regardless of model or style. I own a 1981 Distillate and it's 81D1892. Mike |

My guess is there should be a number after the 7, 3400 seems in the right range for '85 Edit, just saw the listing... the seller replaced the last number with a *, you should mail the seller to get the complete number... (Message edited by fc_spoiler on January 19, 2007) |

There is another thread going on this. It is a distillate. Picked up for $1500 and being resold at $2295. The controls are vol,filter, q-switch, bass and treble quick tone switches, pick-up selector. NLP controls, distillate thread (Message edited by inthelows on January 19, 2007) |
