Mica, I'm looking into the purchase of this bass, and I wanted to see if there was anything in the files for it. Thanks for your help! Chris |

Hey is that one of the rare Alembics that has band-pass filters instead of the standard low-pass filters? In any event, it looks great! |

Mark, What in the world would suggest that to you? Looks like perhaps the Q toggle switches were replaced, but they may well be the originally installed ones. |

T8SK-I have no idea about the filters, but the seller didn't note anything special in reference to them, so it's likely that they're the standard low-pass filters. I've seen a lot of these 70's basses with the chrome switches, so I think that they're stock. |

There's not much in the file, just the original index card with scant details: LSBI 75-246 top: Lacewood body: not recorded back: Peroba Rosa neck: Maple and Walnut, 34" long scale fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl ovals peghead veneers: Zebrawood electronics: PF6 birthday: not recorded originally made for: LD Heater That's all there is. The chrome switch paddles are typical for the time. I am not familiar with Alembics that have only band-pass filters. There are several that have switchable filters that can cycle through low-, band-, high-, and notch-filters. But these have many more controls on the face. Now for some speculation. The core is a light color, so it's probably not Mahogany. As an educated guess from common body woods at the time, I'd say possibly Birch or Maple. It doesn't look dark enough to be Narra or Cherry, which were also in use. |

The Lacewood top looks very nice! For those of you who haven't run the search yet: Peroba Rosa Chris, is a picture of the back available? |

Thanks, John. Looks like I'll have the funds soon-in which case this thing should be in my hands by early July. |
