Chris had said the electronics were up graded. Chris was kind enough to sell this fantastic bass. Just wondering what the controlS are. And is the warranty transferable? Model XSB4 Thanks all for your help. Serial # 06X13654 |

Here's the details from the file: top: Vermilion accent: Maple laminate, Purpleheart pinstripe body: 3-piece Ash neck: 5-piece maple and Purpleheart, 30.75" short scale fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl ovals and a flat radius finish: gloss polyester with satin neck feel pickups: FatBoy 1" from bridge, MXY 1/4" from truss rod cover controls: volume, pan, bass, treble, mono output birthday: October 17, 2006 originally made for: custom order through Bass Central I think Chris may have purchased an AE-2 module to replace the bass and treble controls. If you have 3 knobs and 1 switch, that's likely the case. |

Thanks Mica, You are always a big help. The bass does have the AE-2 module. Would you enlighten me on the controls? Thank you |

The controls should be the same as your Spoiler except that instead of the pickup selector switch, you have a pan control. With the pan control turned full clockwise, you'll just get signal from the neck pickup; start turning it counter clockwise and you start getting less of the neck pickup while increasing the bridge pickup until you get only the bridge pickup at full counter clockwise. At the center detent position, the outputs of both pickups are equal. Also, inside the control cavity, where the Spoiler has two trim pots, one for each pickup, your setup will only have one, controling the output of the entire system. Essentially, you have Essence electronics plus a Q switch. Or you have Elan electronics but with only one trim pot. Enjoy! |

Thanks, Yes it has three control nobs and a three position switch. Is the switch for the pickups? toward the neck (the Neck Pickup) toward the bridge is the Bridge Pickup and the center would be the combo of both. The one knob toward the neck is volume, the middle is ?? and is the Bottom nob is Sweep??? Thanks davehouck |

John; it might be helpful if you can post a picture of your bass. I'm guessing at what you have based on the above posts made by you and Mica. Does one of the knobs have a center detent? In other words, if you turn the knob half way through its range of rotation, can you feel a little hole where the knob wants to stop turning and take a rest? If so, then that's the pan control. The three position switch that you have; does it look in appearance like the two position Q switch on your Spoiler? Let us know the answers to these questions, and we'll go from there. |

Then it seems likely that you have volume, pan, filter, 3-position Q switch. Enjoy! |

Thanks so much for the help. The Bass is fantastic. I feel real lucky being able to get a short scale Alembic to replace my 84 Spoiler. Thanks again. |
