I found this in an out of the way guitar shop. It is a black fretless, shorter scale bass that is light and looks to be built for easy replacement of the pickup assembly. I have never seen anything quite like it....It has EMG PUs, but another assembly in the case.

I ASSUME the "021" on the pickup assembly is the serial number(?)

Although Stanley Clarke was involved in the design of the Spellbinder, the instrument has nothing to do with Alembic. But I wouldn't be surprised if one of the members here can tell you more ... ;-)
