Hello (yes I'm British) I played an Alembic in a music shop (that's what we call a store in the UK) fell in love, but was far too expensive for me at the time....Thank you E-Bay I own one now. I know nothing at all about the bass except she sings like an angel. Please help....thank you

Hi Mark; while you are waiting for the next round of serial number searches, you might enjoy perusing the other Epics in our Showroom section, which includes a few six string Epics like yours.

I don't think it's an Epic...I think (looking through this web-site...it's an Orion (three numbers before the W)

That's right, OW is the "code" for Orion basses

Whoops! My mistake!

There's actually two numbers, the 98 is the code for the year 1998. As Flip pointed out, the third character is the letter O; and OW is indeed the code for an Orion bass.

He, thanks FC...Totaly agreed, My last bass was the Status Stelth, I brought the Orion home, turned on my rig..pluged in the Alembic then pluged in the Stelth, pluged in the Alembic again, and I never played th Stelth again...in fact I sold it. Now the Status basses are top hole old chap without adout...but alembic as Homer woul say AAARRRRllllll. Warm sweet a total joy....Talk soon, and thanks...Mark
