Hello, all;
I tried to register my new baby using the automatic registration page on the main site when I traded for the bass last month, but got no response.
From what I know, I got the bass from its original owner, who bought it new in '82. Is there any other data you can fill me in on? Thanks in advance.

Hi Shawn,

There's no auto response on the registration page - I just print out those details and slip them in the old-fashioned files. The email is saved for a future database project (won't everyone love when the files are in electronic format?!)

Here's what was in the file for your new to you bass:

top and back: Flame Koa
body: Mahogany
accent laminates: none recorded*
neck: Maple and Purpleheart, 30.75" short scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays
peghead veneers: Koa
birthday: June 24, 1982
originally made for: Music Workshop, PA, special order

There's no repair history for the bass, and the original owner was from PA and purchased the bass on June 28th.

It was originally ordered with a graphite neck, but that was changed.

*Let me know if there is an accent wood. If there is, I'd appreciate your educated guess as to the species, or post an image and I'll do the same.

Hello, Mica
Welcome back to the board, and thanks for the information. That jibes with what the original owner told me about the bass.
As near as I can tell, the accent layers are maple, but when time permits I'll post a photo to get your take on it.
The graphite-neck angle is a heckuva coincidence, as I traded for this bass so as to have a companion for my graphite-necked bass, 82 2327.
