Riccardo,

Nice walnut top, the back will be the same. The 20th Anniversary model was released in '89, some basses were made and released in '90. I have the maple top/back version of this, number 041. It has a maple core, I believe the walnut basses have Alembic's standard mahogany core. If this is your bass then you have the elecronics figured out. If it's not your bass then the electronics are a such: each pick up has it's own master volume, low pass filter and "Q" switch ( add 6db boost to filter setting). The point knob is a pick up selector: neck, both, bridge, stand by. The little toggle next to the 1/4 jack is a mono/stereo output switch. Sorry if you knew that already.

The most similar Alembic model is the Mark King Signature. Replacement cost for a new bass is $9200. Thats based upon a MK Signature Standard with upgraded flame walnut top and back, purple heart neck laminates, omega cut out, Annniversary electronics and brass back plate. Price arrived at via the qoute generator. That's if you buy direct from Alembic.

Market price? Hmmm, 20th Anniv basses don't come up for sale very often. Maybe one of the regular ebay/price watchers would be able to provide realistic information. I'd pay about a third of the replacement cost for a used, in better-than-good condition 20th. But that's me and not to be taken a market indicator. The ability to reason can escape some people if the right instrument happens along.

Hope that helps. Beautiful bass.

Welcome to the club Riccardo.Very nice bass. Those 20th anniversary models are most definatley keepers, (Hint HInt Mike).

Olie.

PS. What is it about the 20th Anniv bass owners and the word "Groove". HMMMMM I see a pattern here.

Hi Riccardo, welcome to the group!

Mike, isn't the Q switch on the Anniversary, like the Signature electronics, 8db?

Dave, I think you're correct. I must have been thinking of my previous Alembic that had Europa controls, 6db cut and boost.

Anyway, I'm liking the walnut on Riccardo's bass more and more.

Ok, Olie hit me with a stick next time. ;)

Thanks to all for your informations :-)

Actually this bass belongs to a verry good friend of mine and he needs to sell the bass but doesnt have time so i'm helping him out...

I guess 3200.- U.S.Dollars would be a good price?

The bass is like new.
He is the first owner and it was only used at home or in the studio. (original case is also included) Another picture...

This guy is a snake!

We agreed a sale, discussed delivery and paypal charges then after a day with no response he tells me that he's selling to someone else that has offered more cash.

What a dickhead.

Sorry - the file for this bass could not be located. But this is the typical Walnut flavor of the Anniversary basses.

Walnut top, back and core
Vermilion accent laminates
Maple and Purpleheart neck
Ebony fingerboard

Since some people are talking about me on this forum, i'll tell the real story!!!

Angelboy discussed with me the price but wanted more informations about me and my friend (witch was really the owner) and wanted me to take a picture with the bass and a newspaper so that he could see that i really the bass...(maybe he thougt that i want to cheat him...)

Since i didnt have the bass at home during this conversation i got better offers without asking me any extra informations and without paying thru paypal (I found out that i have to pay up to 3.4% if i get the money this way).

So i decided to sell it to somebody else witch is not threatening me with sale injunction and legal departmet...

If angelboy would have payed rightaway, the bass would be in his possesion by now...

So everybody can think what they want but thats the true story!

Ps: I am not a ebay seller or store, or did anybody
see any advertising in the web?
And why should i sell this bass witch was unique and rare for a cheap price?

By the way...
the terms used by angelboy are just showing what kind of person he is...

Bye Ricky

Before anyone else responds to this thread, the nature of the above mentioned transaction has been discussed in depth in another thread, and thus does not need to be addressed here in the serial number request section. Thanks.
