Help needed guys, my Rogue is living upto its namesake. Occasionally when i plug my bass in i can only get the front p/up to work, the only way to get the pan to work is by plugging & unplugging the bass several times which is proving to be annoying at the start of each set. I keep the bass unplugged between sets to preserve battery life as i like my LEDs in the show & the (Sims) LEDs run of the single 9v battery. All my leads have Nuetrik jacks. I've had the back plate off & checked all connections on the board, (also fresh batteries) but the problem still arrises occasionally. The bass has standard rogue circuitry,B T switches & single filter + switch. Has anyone else experienced this problem? as whilst the neck p/up on its own is a great tone i prefer the hollows of both p/ups on. 'Help me please, you are my only hope' | ||

One thing to try to help isolate the problem is to open the control cavity and switch the pickup leads (plug the neck pickup in where the bridge pickup was, etc.) so that the panning control now works backwards from the way it did before. Since this is an "occassional" problem, you may have to leave the leads switched for a while until the problem happens again. When it does happen the problem will probably move to the other pickup, or it may stay with the same pickup. If this actually fixes the problem, then one of the leads might not have been completely plugged in. I'm not sure why plugging and unplugging the cable several times fixes the problem; but here are some jack related things to do. - Have you tried a different instrument cable? - Try plugging and unplugging the cable 30 times in a row (cleans the jack). - You could also try cleaning the contacts on the jack with a cotton swab and switch cleaner. But my guess is that this is not a jack problem. | ||

About the only thing it can be is the op amp. If you can't find a TLE 2024 locally, we can send you one. The op amp is socketed, and won't require any soldering... BUT if you plug it in backward, it will damage the op amp into a non functioning state. SO make sure you find pin one on the socket and the op amp. It will be marked with a notch, a shiny black dot, or a molded numeral "1". Do not rely on the printed marking of the op amp to orient it. Once you've identified pin on on the socket and the op amp, you can plug away. | ||

Thanks guys, i'll try to switch the pan first, the op amp seems drastic but will keep in mind. I've only a couple of hours befor i'm off to tonights gig, I'll see how i get on. Steve |
