I was looking at the early episodes of CSI: NY yesterday. First season. In the second episode , 21 minutes in , a building flashes by that looks exactly like an omega peghead. Any one living in New York that can identify the building in question? (Message edited by rob_the_fiend on June 12, 2008) |

It is a building designed by the late Philip Johnson. It was the defining moment when leftist postmodernism met capitalist economics and got into the mainstream, killing off any critical edge that postmodern architecture had up to that point. The original owners were AT & T. I think Sony bought the building at some stage, I don't know whow owns it now. Your Philip Johnson 'omega' cut is supposedly inspired by 18c Chippendale Tallboy furniture. Google it and all will become apparent. (Message edited by 0vid on June 12, 2008) |

Thanks for the info on the building. Would be perfect for an east coast headquarter for Alembic. ;) |
