As a huge JAE fan (as many are on this respected forum), I noticed a lot of people playing along to Who tracks on Youtube and whilst putting their heart and soul into it, maybe not quite doing John justice. Sooooo, I got me Exploiter out and have attempted to reverse said trend. I've recorded a lot (with more on the way)including a full rendition of 'Tommy'! Some may say I have too much time on my hands...and they'd be right! Just go to Youtube and put 'garethnh' in the search box and the vid's will apppear. Post comments if you like and even your own vids...let's keep JAE's spirit alive and see some more Alembic playing on Youtube!

Wow quite a nice collection of vids, and well played, too. I like the fact that you're jamming over the tunes instead of simply mimicking exactly what JAE did on record.

Nice bass too.

How did you record these vids? What did you use for signal? Is it that small Marshall behind you?

Way to represent Alembic and all us JAE/Who fans!

As they say on your side of the pond, Cheers!

Hi Tom.
Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate the sentiments. He never played the same thing twice, so I thought... get the basics of what he did and then 'fly'!
To record I just set up my camcorder, set the CD going and played along through my Laney practice amp with my effects running as well. I play a bit back to get a rough balance and away I go. It's not technical at all...just the way I like it!
Cheers!

Well guys,
I would like to put up some of my JE stuff played with our WHO tribute WHO ARE YOU on youTube but due to copyright things I am not allowed here in Germany, even if the base of youTube is not in Germany. :-(
