Good afternoon everybody.Sorry for my English but I'm French.Alembic is my way of life; and a dream...I love Alembic Basses since a long time ( for me because I'm only 32..) and I'm reading your website since one year; when I've bought my computer. I'm French and only knows one famous french bassist to play with Alembic Basses: Francis Darizcuren. He always plays with the defretted #086 and with this LSB #025-75. I often write to Francis and the other day he has sent me photocopies of his owner's descriptive book. I was surprised to find this number because if I've well read the site #025 would have been more for a 1972 bass than a 1975 one. Why? Why is there 5 pots? Is it or not a Series I? On another page is written that it was mounted with a PF-6 electronics: what is or are the difference(s) with PF-5? Thank you for your help . Mica, you didn't have sent me the new brochure you promised me in 1998... Christophe MEYER from Nancy, FRANCE

Christophe,
It's possible that your serial number desribes the 25th instrument built in 1975...the LSB might stand for Long Scale Bass.
I bet Mica can supply more specifics...they are busy so please be patient.

That is an interesting serial number. I have one very similar, also from 1975, but AC, which means "export for Canada." Actually, mine is almost identical - AC 75-025! So I do not think it is the 25th Alembic ever, but is probably the 25th Alembic made specifically for Canada. Are you sure there isn't an AE in the number? That would mean it was made for export and would be the 25th. (The serial number explanation is here - no "LSB" though...)

Hopefully there is more information at Alembic!

Hi,

I wrote about serial No. of this case on another thread " Bass guitar Series I # 086".
I think "o25" without extra letter "A-".
