Mica, My Orion has the bass & treble controls and l.e.d's. I would like to add a filter and Q switch and keep the bass & treble controls but of course have no room in the cavity. Upon inspection of the cavity the filter and switch could fit where the battery is, so could the preamp be powered by the batteries that power the l.e.d.'s?

I had my Rogue retro fitted with SIMs LED's just after i bought it & they run the leds off of the circuit battery.
It just means changing the battery a little more often.

Steve, thanks for your input. Alembic uses four batteries to power the l.e.d.'s so, I was thinking that three would be plenty to power the lights and the other to power the preamp, all in one cavity. Damn I want that filter and Q switch!

Hi Adam
27v should be plenty to run the leds, it all depends whether they're run series/parallel & what Alembics idea of current draw is, i suppose?
I have a warwick thumb with side leds that runs on 27v for the leds & 18v for the circuit with two separate battery cavities.
In theory it should all work for your Orion, it would just mean a couple of extra wires running through the bridge p/up cavity, if the power pack is at the back of the upper bout.
But lets see what Mica thinks....

That's what I kind of figured. I'm wondering what kind of modifications would/could be made and how much?
