All maple, nothing custom, although was a sustain block stock in '94? Any details would be nice, just for the fun of it. Pics over in the showcase. 94K8803 Thanks, Jack mica Moderator Username: mica Post Number: 5924 Registered: 6-2000 Posted on Monday, March 02, 2009 - 8:05 pm:    Hi Jack, Here's what I found in the instrument file: KLB5 Essence 5-string bass top: Quilted Maple accent: Walnut pinstripe body: Rock Maple neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes scale: 34" long fingerboard: Ebony inlays: none pickups: Alembic MXY56 controls: "Essence" volume, pan, filter, mono output birthday: December 28, 1994 originally made for: 1995 NAMM show display The sustain block was standard for the 5- and 6-string Essence basses, but not the 4-string version.
