Hi everybody. I found this lefty Alembic on eBay on spring '97. Even I'm not a six string player, I bought it since it was the only left handed Alembic I've seen around (for an affordable price). Since it is a six string, it has a different pick up configuration that the four and five string versions. May I know the reason why? I'd like to know as much as possible about this bass. If somebody is into the second hand market, I'd like to know a possible estimation for this bass. I paid €2000 for it (including hardshell case and shipping from Spain) but I don't know if it was a good price. The bass, anyway, is in perfect condition. The only weird thing is that the serial number is on the truss-road metal cover, it's very easy to remove (in case of stealing). Picture coming soon. Thanks. |

Hi Giancarlo, Here are several previous threads I found on your serial number until the file at Alembic can be looked up. http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/18221.html http://alembic.com/club/messages/395/11212.html http://alembic.com/club/messages/393/11211.html Enjoy your bass. Play it Healthy! Art |

That's a beautiful bass! I was playing mine last night. There should also be a s/n imprinted on the wood just inside the control cavity cover on the lip. I think Alembic just needed to make a wide pickup to fit six strings. Nothing wrong with them. Enjoy! |
