Please, What is the official name of my beloved bass? I purchased it some 20 odd years ago in Detroit, and proceeded to lose all the paperwork that came with it. I would also love to know its approximate value, beyond the emotional, of course. There is a picture on my profile page.

Hi Tim,

The S in the serial# means that the main build features are those of a Spoiler. Obviously the body shape is non-standard for a Spoiler: this one is known as the "Exploiter".

Nice one! We'd love to see more pics on the Showcase.

Sorry these can take so long to research. It's especially frustrating when the file is AWOL. There's not much I can tell you about your bass except that it was made in December of 1985.

Here's what I can tell from the photo:

top: can't see well, probably Walnut
body: Mahogany
neck: 3-piece Maple
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: AXY
controls: volume, pickup selector, filter, Q-switch, mono output
body shape: Exploiter

Sorry there isn't more I can provide. I'll let you know if I ever locate the original file (they are sometimes just misfiled).
