Ive been going through pics of my old basses/guitar and there are quite a few Alembic's.... just wanted to share. this is the one that started it all. the pic is not mine its from "Superbass" I really miss Steve! what a great guy. There were at least one or two at all time to keep my GAS on high. From here I moved onward to a beautiful Wineburst Excel, assume that I wish I had each one back right now Yes a second BB, this one was even more beautiful than the first with LEDs. Thats my wifes Skylark (also ordered through superbass) in the pics along side, my tastes were rubbing off on her, she will never get rid of this guitar and we/she are very lucky to have it! here is a quick fam pic of three The skylark my Flame maple Essence and a SC deluxe that I traded for here at the club here is the bass I had before I traded for the SC. BIG beautiful Elan 6 its been awhile but Im now playing this wonderful Canarywood Excel 5..... Anyway again just wanted to share.... Alembic has really been a "Family" brand for my "Family" I cant say that about any other instrument maker and we have gone thorugh ALOT of instruments. thanks for looking - T |

That was cool! I haven't owned enough Alembics to make it worth posting like that - but it offers a goal worth striving for! Thanks for the tour! |

Great Collection. What is that Rickenbaker guitar like? I've been quite interested in trying one out over the past few years but not found anywhere that sells them local to where I live. Jazzyvee |

Thanks... the Ric I believe is a Rickenbacker 650S walnut body, we usually track with it, it rarely sees any live action, the sound from what I remember very clean and crisp, nicely suited with a touch of fuzz or distortion, kind of a thick neck. Im not even sure what tracks we have used the guitar on but im sure we have samples of it in a mix,Ill try and find out.... I dont really see them anymore but I remember seeing one or two selling for around $850-950 |

Tom, I also purchased my Brown Bass from Steve at Superbass. You're correct, he's a great guy and was extremely easy to work with. I wish he was still in business. Nice collection and even nicer to see an Alembic owner in the New York area John |

That Fender VI was I believe one of the early MIJ models, its was killer but it did not see alot of use in what we were playing at the time, slim neck profile and once you got used to it, it was easy to get around on even for a bass player. But like sooo many others it was sold or traded.... we still have all of those guitars, and have added a few more, but basses in this house keep rotating in and out.... |

Hey Echo008, I think I own your Excel now. It one of the best basses I've owned. I got it from a TB bass player. You may not reconize it now unless you look at the gain on the bass.
