Hi!
I'm thinking about buying this beauty. Any info would be great, particularly year of manufacture, components, (spec?), etc.

Thanks,
Bob.

First two digits are for the calendar year, so it was built/finished this year.

Thanks for that info. It doesn't seem to have a coco bolo body face. Would there be some reason for that?

You can custom order any Alembic guitar or bass with any combination of woods you like. Chances are the person who ordered it just wanted something different. There are a couple paint finish Tributes that I remember seeing in the showcase section.

Good luck with the potential purchase. Mica has a lot of work on her plate and the serial number request aren't a high priority (meaning sometimes you have to wait awhile to get the info). If you're looking for quick info, we could probably sort out a lot of the details if you posted a picture of the guitar in question. Also, if it's an '09 the owner will probably still have the build card supplied by Alembic.

Hi Bob,

The TJ is a Tribute Stage model, and they all have the same feature set so far (there is one custom with a Coco Bolo top under construction now):

top: Bloodwood
accent: Maple
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple, Purpleheart and Cherry
fingerboard: Ebony

It should look very much like the guitar in this announcement.

OK, so I tracked this file down, and the only information that I didn't include before was:

originally made for: G Guitars
birthday: May 28, 2009
