Art, I don't blame him for wanting it real bad. It sometimes takes a little while before Mica can look up the info. Do you have any pics available? That would allow for some members here to chime in with thoughts. ( I bet she's a beauty ) |

That is a beauty! Do you still have the original pickups/electronics for it? Looks like it has EMG's in it. |

With the EMG pickups it would be worth less than a similar bass with all original Alembic parts. If the pickup cavities have been rerouted to accommodate the EMG's the value would be even lower since you could not restore the bass to original condition. Do you still have the original power supply? From the pic's it looks like zebra wood. It is hard to tell if the finish is original or has been redone. The wood looks nice. You can determine the year of manufacture by the first two digits of the serial number. Go here to see how to locate and decode the serial number. Keith |

Hi Art, Unfortunately, the original file for your bass went missing many years ago. In 2003 when you registered the bass we created a replacement file to store your details in. You were kind enough to notify me then of the the change to EMGs. Would be nice to see what's under the electronics cavity. Post a picture of that if you get a chance. There's no details on the birthday, but from the photos you've already posted, I can confirm that the top and back is Zebrawood. It's perfectly quartersawn and is exhibiting s lovely ribbon stripe figure in addition to the contrasting lines of Zebrawood - really pretty! The neck is Maple and Purpleheart, and the fingerboard is Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays. |
