Hi All,
I have just purchased my first Alembic and am interested to know if many of you have a similar model and, if so, what your impressions of owmership are.
I have a new Orion 4 string which was supplied by a shop in London. At first glance it gives the impression of being a lot of money for the type of construction but plug it in and it is awesome. I have a friend who owns four Alembics and he reckons it sounds pretty close to his Mark King which cost him twice as much!
Regards

Congrats on your acquistion! Many hours of pleasure are in front of you! I don't have an Orion but I have a total of four Alembics and they are all great in their own ways.

Cheers,

Brother Will!
Welcome ...what took you so long??
Ooooops ...did the yelling for pictures started yet.
okay ...on-and-two-and-three-and - ...

I like Orion basses and -maybe weird- especially the headstock which I found a beautiful example of design and grace. The entire Orion body has that grace.

What you say about the sound is quite right. I keep saying that you have to buy an Alembic for the electronics. I think there are in US and EU other bass-builders with the same care in constructing a bass and sense for style, woods and finshing, but the electronic part is unique!

Hello Will
Welcome to the club and congratulations. You'll be more than satisfied with your bass. Alembics are pretty but as Brother Paul TBO says it's the electronic soul that makes the amazing sound that sets them apart.
