Instead of buying a TRS "Y" cable for my OBEL I recently bought a 5-jack junction box to handle the splitting. This way I can continue to use my own mono cables and one TRS cable. I also have the option of going mono-direct into the amp (instead of mono to junction box to amp) which saves using one add'l cable AND allows for no interference btwn amp and guitar.
My Boss TU-2 tuner is first in the fx chain (after the junction box). When playing the guitar in the mono position (direct to amp), if tuner pedal is activated it is still reading the output of the guitar. So basically, when playing direct to amp I can still tune even though the tuner is wired through the OBEL. I thought that the OBEL was supposed to be an entirely separate circuit controlled by the toggle? As described in the FAQ's, I've played around with the "effects loop after volume" swap and it hasn't impacted this issue. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

That's how the OBEL works: the signal is split and always sent to the effects loop. The switch determines whether the original signal (off position) or the effected signal (on position) is sent to the amp.

you should not use a y cable to begin with use trs on both sides and then build a splitter box or buy the one from hard truckers
