Glenn: Sorry to hear you have to sell such a lovely guitar. I believe Alembic was making only Series instruments back in '76. I have 76-476, a medium scale Series I guitar. A Series will have two single coil pickups with a "dummy" hum canceling pickup in the middle. It will also have a 5 pin jack to go along with the standard 1/4" phono jack. As for value, it depends on condition, any extras (like LEDs or extra special woods), and whether it has the power supply. If in good condition, it could be worth anywhere from $2500-3500, perhaps more for a special top. Bill, the guitar one |

Bill, Thanks for the info.Sounds like a desription of my guitar. It's in mint condition, all original except for the nut and one volume pot.Electronics are in perfect working order. The top & back are made of beautifully bookmatched birdseye maple.I don't have the original power supply. I'm asking $3300,but that is negotiable to find it a good home.It would be nice for a member of the Alembic Club to get it before I have to place it on ebay this monday(july 5th).Here's wishing you a happy july 4th holiday weekend. Thanks again, Glenn from Montreal p.s. more pics on request(by e-mail) |

Here's what I found in the file: top: Maple body: Koa back: Maple neck: Birch and Purpleheart scale: 25.5" long scale peghead veneers: Walnut and Zebrawood fingerboard: Rosewood inlays: mother of pearl originally made for: Romco/NAMM birthday: June 24, 1976 The file says Maple but the pictures look more specifically Bird's-eye Maple - very pretty! There's nothing else to report. |
